  • On Thursday, March 14, 2024, Kasdi Merbah University witnessed a courtesy visit from His Excellency Mr. Stéphane Romatet,ambassador of France to Algeria, accompanied by a delegation that included Mr. Bruno Clerc, Consul General of France in Oran, Ms. Ahlam Gharbi, Advisor for Cooperation and Cultural Activity, Director General of the French Institutes in Algeria, and Mr. Mathieu Brochon, Economic Advisor at the Embassy.

  • The delegation was received by the Director of Kasdi Merbah University, Professor Mohamed Al-Taher Halilat, and his deputies for external relations and cooperation, pedagogy, and scientific research, along with the Secretary-General of the University, the Director of the Office, and the Director of the Intensive Language Teaching Center in Ouargla.

  • This visit aims to discuss ways to enhance academic cooperation between the University of Ouargla and its French counterparts. The two sides stressed the importance of enhancing student and professor exchange, developing joint research programs, and exchanging experiences in various scientific fields.
  •  The French Ambassador praised the great scientific rapprochement between the University of Ouargla and French universities, expressing his appreciation for the fruitful cooperation embodied in joint projects such as the Institute of Technology, one of the most important fruits of cooperation in the higher education sector between the two countries.
  • The French Ambassador also stressed the importance of the qualitative partnership with Total Energy in the process of qualitative training and evaluation of joint projects, out of belief in its role in developing the region and enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries.
  • This visit represented an important opportunity to confirm the commitment of the two countries to strengthening their bilateral relations in various fields, especially in the field of higher education.
