In a step that enhances academic and cultural cooperation between Algeria and Russia, the Director of the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, received this morning, Sunday, December 1, 2024, a diplomatic delegation from the Russian Embassy headed by Messrs. Ivan Osipov, Ivan Sokolov and Vadim Karabakov, to consult on the possibility of launching a new space for teaching the Russian language and providing students with the opportunity to travel to Russia to complete their postgraduate studies.

Professor Mohammed Al-Taher Halilat welcomed the Russian delegation, stressing the importance of this partnership in developing students' capabilities and providing them with the language skills necessary to integrate into the international labor market. He also stressed the university's readiness to provide all necessary support for the success of this project. For his part, the Russian diplomatic delegation expressed its happiness with this cooperation, pointing out that the Russian language is witnessing an increasing demand worldwide, and that Russia opens the doors of its universities to receive foreign students wishing to study various specializations.

The University President was presented with some books in Russian as a start to this cooperation, which were presented by the Russian delegation as a symbol of appreciation and the close relations between the two countries, and will also be a valuable reference for Russian language students at the university. This visit is considered an affirmation of the strategic vision of the University of Ouargla aimed at enhancing cultural and academic exchange with various countries of the world, and providing new opportunities for Algerian students to learn about other cultures and gain new scientific experiences.
