A scientific symposium was held on the children of Gaza under the title: "Children's Right to Play, Learn, Live, and Dream."
This morning, Sunday, June 1, 2025, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Kasdi Merbah University in Ouargla, in collaboration with the Laboratory of Neuropsychology and Socio-Emotional Cognitive Disorders, organized a scientific symposium entitled: "From Algeria to the Children of Gaza... Children's Right to Live, Learn, Play, and Dream." The symposium was held in the discussion hall. The symposium was attended by the Deputy Director in charge of Pedagogy as the symposium moderator and the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences as the symposium chair.
The symposium aimed to analyze the psychological and social effects of aggression and trauma on children in Gaza, discuss effective psychological and social interventions to support them, propose sustainable support mechanisms with the participation of academic and humanitarian institutions, and review successful experiences in this field.
The symposium addressed several legal, media, and psychological themes and approaches, as well as social and educational approaches to the conflict affecting children, along with possible interventions to ensure a better future for children in Gaza.
The symposium featured a select group of professors, specialists, and academic experts, including Professor Dr. Najat Al-Dawi, who addressed international legal protection for children – using the Gaza Strip as a model, and Professor Dr. Fadhila Toumi, who discussed the image of Gaza's children in Arab and Western media. Dr. Zainab Shanouf, Dr. Abdullah Joudi, and Dr. Fatima Zahra Ben Mujahid also delivered valuable contributions, examining the psychological and social effects of war on children.
