American Corner

The American Corner program was initiated and launched by the U.S. Ambassador to Russia, Mr. James Collins , in October 2000. There are almost 400 Corners in 60 countries all around the world under the program.
The fundamental function of American Corners is to make information about the United States available to foreign publics at large.

On June 16, 2010. Ambassador David D. Pearce was received by the Wali of Ouargla, Mr. Ahmed Malfouf , and visited Kasdi Merbah University where he met the Rector, Mr. Ahmed Boutarfaia , to discuss opportunities for cooperation and exchange where Ambassador Pearce officially opened the new American Corner of Ouargla located in Kasdi Merbah University.
the American Corner is cultural center designed to share the story of the United States and help individuals expand their general knowledge and skills, and understand American society, culture .
