The “Eugen Ionescu” program allows researchers from member or observer countries of the OIF and Algeria, from higher education institutions that are members of the AUF, to benefit from a 3-month research mobility in the one of the 26 higher education institutions in Romania.

This scholarship program is named after the playwright Eugen Ionescu to pay homage to the Romanian-French writer (1909, Slatina, Romania-1994, Paris, France), an emblematic figure of twentieth century literature and a major representative of the theater of the 'absurd, through famous works such as' La Cantatrice bald', 'La Leçon' and 'Les Chaises'.

International call for applications open from December 20, 2019 to February 16, 2020 (11 p.m. Bucharest time, GMT + 2).

Please note that applying for the Eugen Ionescu scholarship program is a process that involves two essential steps:

Pre-registration for the program requires obtaining a certificate of reception from the Romanian university that the candidate has chosen and to which he must send a pre-registration file (see the regulations below). Pre-registration must therefore be done sufficiently in advance to allow the prospective host university to process the file.

The submission of the application to the AUF - each candidate must fill out an application file, imperatively and exclusively online, at the address http://formulaires.auf.org/ (Calls for tenders in progress - Request for “Eugen Ionescu” doctoral / postdoctoral fellowship 2019-2020 in Romania (Central and Eastern Europe) - last deadline for transmitting files on February 16, 2020, 11:00 p.m., Bucharest time (GMT + 2).
