Ci-RES project at the University of Ouargla

 

 

Within the framework of the Ci-RES project, which aims to build and create institutional capacities to integrate refugees into higher education, and according to a series of workshops to discuss this project, a workshop was organized on February 16, 2021 in the meeting rooms of the Faculty of Law and Political Science, headed by the project supervisor, Mr. Mourad KORICHI, Deputy Director in charge of External Relations, a workshop that includes Several participants and invited from security services and authorities (National Security - National Gendarmerie - Customs) and representatives of local directorates (National Education - Professional Training - Tourism - Culture and others) in addition to the Algerian Scouts and the Algerian Red Crescent, as well as remote interventionists in charge of human rights and professors specialized in the field of asylum And refugees, and this is for dialogue and extensive discussion between all these actors at the state level of Ouargla about how to deal and provide optimal care for refugees, study what are the mechanisms associated with this group, who will be part of the Algerian higher education system, and propose ways or flexible policies that integrate refugees in all other sectors.

Where the meeting focused and addressed several basic axes, namely:

          1 - An anatomy of the refugee reality in Algeria, the wilaya of Ouargla in particular, and the Qasdi Merbah University in particular
          2 - What are the procedures or policies adopted by the Algerian authorities to take care of refugees and ways to integrate them into various sectors of life, including higher education?
          3 - Through the two previous axes, an attempt to identify the difficulties and obstacles facing the integration of the refugee in Algeria.
