This morning, Monday, October 9, 2023, the University of Kasdi-Merbah-Ouargla, at the level of the Grand Conference Hall, hosted a study day on “Investment in freshwater aquaculture in desert areas under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Fisheries and Fisheries Products, Mr. Ahmed Badani, in coordination with the Directorate of Marine Fishing and Aquaculture.” Aquatics for the state of Ouargla, in cooperation with the National Center for Research and Development in Marine Fishing and Aquaculture and under the supervision of the Governor of Ouargla State, Mr. Mustafa Aghamir, in the presence of the President of the State Council, Mr. Qureshi Mohamed Lazhar, and the Director of the University of Kasdi Merbah, Mr. Mohamed Al-Taher Hulilat.

The Minister also gave an opening speech in which he touched on the role of the university in training young professionals in the field of aquaculture, appreciating the partnership agreement signed on November 26. 2020 between the Ministry of Higher Education and the Ministry of Fisheries, which greatly enhanced national production, according to statistics and figures from the World Food and Agriculture Organization. He also praised the work of the joint research teams that contributed to encouraging technological innovation in this field.
