The third edition of the National Days for Public Forest Wetland Areas, February 3-4, 2024, under the slogan “Wetlands and Human Well-Being.”

The Desert Living Resources Laboratory and the Green Hands Club, representing the University of Kasdi-Merbah Ouargla, participated in the third edition of the National Days for Public Wetlands of Forests, February 3-4, 2024, under the slogan “Wetlands and Human Well-Being,” which was held at the level of the Faculty of Economics at the Institute of Economic and Social Sciences at the University of Laghouat. On the side of the Wetland Conservation Laboratory, represented by the University of Guelma, in partnership with the Forest Prefecture of Laghouat Province, with the participation of doctors and researchers from the country’s universities.
In the presence of the Inspector General of Forests, representative of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Secretary General of the State of Laghouat, the representative of the Governor of the State, the President of the University of Laghouat, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics, the frameworks of the University of Ouargla, Laghouat and El Oued, in addition to the frameworks of the Forest Governorate of Laghouat State, and the frameworks of the Scientific Research Center. The forum aimed to produce qualitative scientific and technical materials for the stability of wetlands, as well as to raise awareness of the importance of preserving wetlands, and to encourage actors to participate in an event with an environmental dimension.
This forum was also devoted to enriching three axes of biological diversity: introducing the ecological services of wet areas, highlighting the importance of biological diversity and its enrichment in wet areas, and coming up with recommendations to be sent to the guardianship authority.
On the sidelines of the national forum, an exhibition was organized for many directorates and associations active in preserving the environment and wet areas.
This forum came to achieve many goals, including producing qualitative scientific and technical materials that enhance the stability of wetlands, and educating those interested in the importance of preserving these lands. Focus was also placed on three main axes related to biological diversity, introducing the ecological services of wet areas, and highlighting the importance of biological diversity and its impact on wet areas.
An exhibition was also organized that included several directorates and associations active in the field of preserving the environment and wet areas, honoring the participants and actors and honoring the owner of the best poster presentation, in addition to applied field outputs to learn and get closer to the nature of the natural wet water area.
In this context, the University Rector, Professor Halilat Mohamed Al-Taher, extended his thanks and appreciation to the Director General of Forests and the Director of the University of Laghouat for harnessing human and material resources to ensure the success of this important forum.
Dr. Trabelsi Hafidha was kind enough to present a scientific product of her achievement, which consists of 3 copies of the book Methodology in Scientific Research. She presented this book to the Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Laghouat, as this work is a valuable contribution to promoting understanding and sound practice of scientific research.
