On Monday, May 25, 2025, the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, in cooperation with the Wilaya Security of Ouargla, organized a study day entitled "Artificial Intelligence Techniques in Support of Security." Representatives of the National Gendarmerie and Customs attended.
This scientific forum was very enriching, with contributions from professors from the Faculty of Modern Technologies: Dr. Adel Zaka, Prof. Osama Ayadi, Prof. Khaldi Bilal, Dr. Zitouni Farouk, Prof. Boukhamla Akram, and Dr. Ezzedine Bel Amoudi, as well as Algerian researcher Dr. Ben Khaled Imad from the University of Bordeaux, France.
The importance of this scientific meeting is highlighted by the growing interest that the University of Ouargla is giving to the fields of artificial intelligence and its various applications, especially in the field of security, and to keep pace with global technologies and connect the university to its security, social and economic environment. This provides a space for discussion and exchange of views between academics, experts and practitioners in order to deepen understanding and expand the horizons of research and development in this vital field through artificial intelligence (predicting risks - enhancing surveillance systems - cybersecurity - combating crime and pests - securing vital facilities...)
