Middle East Partnership Initiative Program Coordinator at the U.S. Embassy visited Kasdi Merbah University Ouargla.

On Monday morning, May 11, 2026, Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargla welcomed Mr. Robert McEnery, MEPI Program Coordinator at the U.S. Embassy, as part of a visit aimed at exploring the university’s progress in the fields of education, innovation, and modern technologies.

The visit was attended by the University Rector, Distinguished Professor Mohamed Tahar Halillat, the Vice Rector in charge of External Relations and Cooperation, the Head of the Artificial Intelligence House, and the Secretary General of the University. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss academic, scientific, and cultural cooperation between Ouargla University and its American counterparts.

During a field visit to the university’s Artificial Intelligence House, the guest was introduced to the technical facilities and innovative projects hosted by the center. Presentations were delivered on the role of this space in supporting creative students and encouraging the development of smart solutions and modern technologies.

An important part of the visit was also dedicated to discovering the activities of the “American Corner” hosted by Ouargla University. This cultural and educational space aims to develop students’ English language skills, broaden their openness to American and global cultures, and encourage them to benefit from training opportunities, scholarships, and international academic programs.
