Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargla is considered one of the most important higher education institutions in Algeria. Its origins trace back to the Higher School for Teachers (E.N.S.), which was established in 1988. Over the years, the university has developed to include ten faculties and two institutes, distributed across three main university campuses that host various academic and administrative structures. The university headquarters is located on Ghardaïa Road. Since September 5, 2005, the institution has officially carried its current name, continuing its mission to provide high-quality and higher education, support scientific research, and serve the community.
