The University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla is pleased to announce the success of student Mounsef Djezar, a graduate of the Master's program in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science at the Faculty of Modern Information and Communication Technologies, in securing a place at the National Doctoral School of Quantum Computing for the 2025-2026 academic year.

This specialization represents one of the modern scientific fields at both the national and international levels, and focuses on developing highly qualified professionals in the fields of quantum computing and artificial intelligence, in line with future strategic directions in research and technological development.

On this occasion, Professor Mohamed Tahar Halilat, Rector of the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla, extends his warmest congratulations to student Mounsef Djezar on this well-deserved achievement, wishing him continued success and brilliance in his academic and research career, and reaffirming the university's ongoing support for its outstanding students.

An invitation from the organizing committee of the 76th meeting of the Petroleum Maintenance Committee, held on November 3rd and 4th in the Berkawi Basin, and in the presence of 11 regional maintenance directorates affiliated with Sonatrach, the subsidiary institutions of the University of Ouargla participated, along with many national and private companies, in this seminar.

In this context, the director of the university's subsidiary companies, along with university professors, presented a detailed overview of the reasons for their establishment, as well as the human and material resources available at the University of Ouargla. These resources can be leveraged to overcome technical and technological obstacles and challenges, and to assist petroleum and economic companies by granting them access to the results of scientific research and innovative projects conducted at the university.

An overview was also provided of the services and activities that the subsidiary companies can undertake, as well as the work already completed by the active subsidiaries: advanced technology, mechanics, geological services, legal consulting, psychological counseling, media and communication, renewable energy, and water, among others.

The discussion revolved around several important points that were clarified for the attendees. The director of the subsidiary companies expressed the readiness of all the companies to provide high-quality services that would benefit both the university and economic institutions.

As part of the national awareness caravan on the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances in the school, university and social environment, under the slogan “November, a new era towards a conscious youth without poisons,” the main hall of the public reading library hosted on Thursday, November 6, 2025, an awareness study day on the dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances, facilitated by experts and specialists in the field; with the participation of officials from the ministerial departments “Justice, the University - represented by the distinguished Professor Halilat Mohamed Taher and the professors involved from the Faculties of Law and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences - National Education and Health,” in addition to the Gendarmerie and National Security, the National Office for Combating Drugs and Addiction and the National Observatory for Civil Society.

This meeting falls within the framework of implementing the National Strategy for Drug Prevention, and its activities included interventions by experts and specialists in this field, addressing the issue of combating and preventing this scourge from multiple aspects, including the religious, legislative, legal, and security aspects. The efforts made by the state in treating and caring for addicts were also highlighted, in addition to the role of civil society in protecting society from the dangers of these toxins.
