The University of Ouargla is organizing scientific days on "Photovoltaic Systems and Renewable Energy Potential in Algeria and Tunisia," with the participation of the University of Sfax.
The Faculty of Modern Information and Communication Technologies, in collaboration with the Faculty of Sciences at the University of Sfax, Tunisia, organized scientific days on the topic: "Photovoltaic Systems and Renewable Energy Potential in Algeria and Tunisia." The event was attended by the Vice-Rector for Pedagogy, deans of the faculties of the third university pole, and a group of professors, researchers, and experts from both universities. The event also featured the Zargoun Green Energy Foundation and the University Incubator in Ouargla.

The Vice-Rector of the University opened the scientific days, noting the great importance the Algerian state attaches to the issue of energy security and emphasizing the need to intensify scientific events in this vital field. He also officially announced the start of the two-day activities.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Modern Information and Communication Technologies welcomed the guests and experts, opening the scientific sessions, which included a series of lectures and interventions, most notably:
- A lecture on the energy transition in Tunisia, presented by Professor Monji Khalil Allah from the Faculty of Sciences in Sfax.
- A presentation entitled "Algeria's Ambitious Goals in the Field of Renewable Energy," moderated by Professor Amari Chaib.
In addition to a series of topics related to renewable energy, including:

- Energy Storage Technologies: Lithium Batteries vs. Lead-Acid Batteries
- Photovoltaic System Design
- Solar Water Pumping Systems

The workshop will extend over two days and aims to enhance scientific cooperation between Algeria and Tunisia in the field of renewable energy through the exchange of knowledge and experiences between researchers, students, and experts. The scientific days will also include industrial visits and field trips to laboratories to learn about the latest innovations in clean energy technology.


Official launch of the third-stage doctoral training at the University of Ouargla
The Visual Arts Hall at Kasdi Merbah University, Ouargla, hosted the official launch of the third-cycle doctoral program for the 2024-2025 academic year on Tuesday morning, May 13, 2025. The event was held under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with the attendance of vice-chancellors, deans of faculties, university staff, and a number of doctoral students. Professor Mohamed Radwan Kafi, in charge of scientific research, delivered a speech on behalf of the university's president, distinguished professor Mohamed Taher Halilat. He also gave a detailed presentation on post-graduation training, including a list of accredited laboratories, the university's national and international rankings, and the challenges and prospects ahead.

The official launch of the third-cycle doctoral training was also announced by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research via videoconference. This was immediately followed by an inaugural lecture delivered via videoconference by the Chairman of the National Committee for the Supervision of Doctoral Training. He addressed the mechanisms for monitoring supplementary training and the importance of adhering to pedagogical and professional standards.
The event also featured the broadcast of recordings of lectures by the heads of the national pedagogical committees for supplementary subjects, which covered methodology, philosophy, English language, information and communication technology, translation, and artificial intelligence.
A special program for researchers was also announced, including scientific lectures and accompanying activities.

The eighth edition of the "INNOVEX 2025" conference kicked off on Sunday, April 20, 2025, in the lecture hall of the Scientific and Cultural Entertainment Center. The conference was organized by the Electronics Club, the Scientific Corner Club, and the Elitech Club, and under the supervision of the Faculty of Modern Information and Communication Technologies. The event was attended by the Vice President for Scientific Research, Professor Mohamed Radwan Kafi; the head of the university's Quality Assurance Unit; deans of faculties and secretaries-general of faculties; the Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship Support and Development; several professors from the Faculty of Modern Information and Communication Technologies; and student entrepreneurs.
The Vice President delivered a speech announcing the opening of the event. The Dean of the Faculty also delivered a speech in which he praised the role of university clubs in the continuity of this scientific event, which showcases technological innovation projects in the field of information and communication technologies and brings together professors, students, researchers, and experts from various fields.
The first day of this edition also featured a series of activities, including:
- Presentation of student and participant projects.
- Organizing interactive workshops led by a group of professors and experts, and training sessions aimed at developing participants' skills and honing their talents in the fields of programming, artificial intelligence, and networks.

The provincial office of the National Organization for Student Solidarity organizes a scientific and historical activity on the occasion of the National Day of Memory at the University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla.
To commemorate National Remembrance Day, which falls on May 8 of each year, the provincial office of the National Organization for Student Solidarity at the University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla, organized a scientific and historical activity on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the university's Scientific and Cultural Recreation Center. The event marked the 80th anniversary of the events of May 8, 1945, when the Algerian people took to the streets to demand their right to freedom and independence, defending national sovereignty.
The event was attended by the Sub-Director of Scientific, Cultural, and Sports Activities, Mujahid Ibrahim Boukhata, and Professor Ahmed Tijani Si Kabir, along with a number of professors and students.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem. Mr. Abdelmalek Barmaki then delivered the opening speech. The head of the student organization also delivered a speech highlighting the role of students and the university in preserving national memory. Professor Ahmed Tijani Si Kabir delivered a historical lecture on the massacres of May 8, 1945, followed by a documentary film about these painful events.
On the sidelines of the event, a fine arts exhibition, drawing workshops, and a photography exhibition were organized.
The ceremony concluded with a tribute to the university president for his efforts in promoting the university. The student organization also honored several contributors to the success of this event, including the sub-director of activities, Mujahid Ibrahim Boukhta, and Professor Ahmed Tijani Si Kabir, in addition to the outstanding students in the competition organized by Student Solidarity.

- As part of the Digital Center for People with Disabilities' efforts to provide pedagogical support to students with disabilities, the center began adapting second-semester course lectures for students with disabilities at the Faculty of Law and Political Science and the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences on Monday, April 21, 2025, to Braille. The center also provides spoken and audible lessons for students who do not master Braille.
- To ensure that students with disabilities receive lessons in a manner that is appropriate to their needs, these lectures will be delivered to students with disabilities immediately after the printing process is complete.

Kasdi Merbah University celebrates the National Day of Science, commemorating the death of Abdelhamid Ben Badis.
In celebration of the National Day of Science, which falls on April 16 of each year, and in remembrance of the exploitations of the scholar Abdelhamid Ben Badis, the University of Kasdi Merbah celebrated the National Day of Science on Thursday, April 17, 2025, in the lecture hall of the university directorate. This was in the presence of the university director, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, and witnessed the presence of university executives, professors, students, economic partners who contributed to sponsoring the ceremony, and social partners.

The ceremony opened with verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem. The university president then delivered a speech announcing the official opening of the ceremony. He praised the achievements of professors and students in various national and international scientific competitions, emphasizing the university's commitment to supporting all talents and providing all necessary conditions to foster a suitable scientific and academic environment for researchers. Mr. Radwan Kafi, the university's vice president for scientific research, also spoke, explaining the scientific competition organized by the university for the benefit of research professors.
- The ceremony honored professors who won the Best Scientific Publication Award, organized by the university in the fields of energy security, agricultural security, health security, and other fields. Students who won national and local competitions were also honored, as were students who received the "Label" badge.
- The ceremony featured a video presentation on the life of reform pioneer Abdelhamid Ben Badis, a play performed by the Lovers of the Stage Club, and a monologue on the Palestinian cause.
