Coordination meeting on the quality management system at the sub-directorate of activities
As part of a series of meetings organized by the University of Ouargla administration regarding the Quality Management System, in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard, a coordination meeting was held this morning, Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in the meeting room of the Cultural and Recreational Center at University Pole 03. The meeting was attended by Mr. Abdelmalek Barmaki, Sub-Director of the Directorate of Scientific, Cultural and Sports Activities, heads of departments at the Directorate, and employees of the Audiovisual Center and the Digital Center for People with Disabilities. The meeting discussed ways to implement and improve the Quality Management System at the University of Ouargla, in accordance with the requirements of the international standard ISO 9001:2015.

In his speech, the Sub-Director of Activities emphasized the importance of this meeting in promoting a culture of quality within the university and achieving its goals of providing quality services to students.
During the meeting, he also reviewed the steps taken by the directorate to implement the quality management system, the challenges it faces, and proposals for improving performance and developing services.
The meeting witnessed extensive discussions among attendees, where opinions and proposals were exchanged on how to activate the quality management system, define responsibilities, and establish monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed to develop a detailed action plan for implementing the quality management system, define tasks and responsibilities, and identify key performance indicators.
This meeting comes within the framework of the University of Ouargla's commitment to achieving excellence in all areas of its work and providing an academic and administrative environment that stimulates creativity and innovation.
Launching the digital platform for the business incubator at the University of Ouargla
Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, Director of the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla, is honored to announce the launch of the digital platform for the University's business incubator. University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla, contributes to the development of national legislation.

As part of strengthening the university's role in contributing to national policy formulation, Professor Rabah Kasdi Merbah Ouargla, Professor at the Faculty of Hydrocarbons, Renewable Energy, and Earth and Space Sciences at the University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla, participated in the work of the Committee on Economic Affairs, Development, Industry, Trade, and Planning.
This meeting, held today, Sunday, March 16, 2025, and chaired by Mr. Mohamed Hanouni, was devoted to examining the draft law regulating mining activities. Professor Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla, offered his scientific and academic expertise to support the state's efforts to develop this vital sector.

A working session was held that brought together a team of professors from the Faculty of Modern Information and Communication Technologies, headed by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Ben Arabi Bilal, as well as the Director of the University's subsidiary companies, Mr. Ghilani Nasser, with executives from Setram - Tramway d'Ouargla, in the presence of the company's Director, Mr. Farouk Bouklikha.
The meeting discussed various projects that enable Setram to leverage the university's expertise and competencies to find innovative solutions, enhancing its position and development.
Some of the services provided by the subsidiary companies of the University of Kasdi Merbah in Ouargla were also presented.
Management review meeting related to the quality management system
As part of the University of Ouargla's commitment to implementing and improving its quality management system in accordance with the requirements of the ISO 9001-2015 standard, a meeting was held this morning, Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the university's directorate in the conference room. The meeting was attended by the university's president, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, and his deputies, the university's secretary-general, deans of faculties, the head of the quality cell, the head of the network center, and sub-directors. Ms. Hassan Saliha, an expert in quality management systems from ENSP, also attended.
The meeting focused on several topics, including evaluating the performance of the university's various operations and the extent to which the objectives related to the quality management system were achieved. The meeting also reviewed the identified non-conformities and discussed the corrective measures taken to address them.
In the same context, proposals were presented regarding available opportunities to enhance the effectiveness of the quality management system and ensure the achievement of the university's strategic objectives.
This meeting reflects the University of Ouargla's commitment to implementing best practices in quality management, through the adoption of ISO 9001:2015, which is considered one of the most important international standards in this field.


International Cooperation: Teaching Mission at Kofi Annan University in Guinea
As part of the partnership agreement signed between the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla (UKMO) and the University of Kofi Annan in Guinea (UKAG), Dr. Farouk Zitouni, a professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Faculty of Modern Information and Communication Technologies (FNTIC) at the University of Kasdi Merbah, is undertaking a teaching assignment at UKAG.
Dr. Zitouni will be teaching courses for Master's students in the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (AISD) module "Mobile Computing and Data Science."
This initiative reflects the two institutions' commitment to strengthening academic cooperation and promoting excellence in education and scientific research, particularly in the fields of advanced technology.

A pedagogical meeting between Professor Abdel Fattah Abi Mouloud, Vice-Rector of the University of Ouargla, and the Vice-Deans for Pedagogy, as well as the heads of the university's eleven fields.
On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Professor Abdelfattah Abi Mouloud, Vice-Rector of the University of Ouargla for Higher Education (first and second cycles, continuing education, diplomas, and advanced training in progression), held a pedagogical meeting attended by the Vice-Deans for Pedagogy and the heads of the university's eleven fields. The university is considered the engine of national development and the institution entrusted with preparing national competencies under the impact of the revolution in modern information and communication technologies.
The attendees discussed mechanisms for renewing and reviewing training programs, including the inclusion of free software and open source, as well as programming, artificial intelligence, and their applications within various educational programs at the bachelor's, master's, and engineering studies levels. This is in accordance with ministerial correspondence from the General Directorate of Education and Training, in anticipation of the upcoming 2025/2026 academic year, so that these programs keep pace with rapid local and global changes, particularly economic and social transformations.


Celebrating International Women's Day - Supporting Women Entrepreneurs
On the occasion of International Women's Day, the House of Artificial Intelligence in Ouargla hosted a competition for the best startup project, organized by the University Activities Directorate. Ten innovative projects presented by ambitious female students seeking to make an impact in the world of entrepreneurship competed.
After a careful evaluation by the jury, which included:

- Director of the University Incubator, Professor Mohsen Ben Habib
- Director of the Entrepreneurship House, Professor Mohamed Goujil
Three outstanding projects were selected, demonstrating women's ability to innovate and lead in the business field.
