Best Scientific Publication Competition at Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargla

Participation Conditions

To encourage and promote scientific research, and to highlight the most prominent contributions of university students and professors, Ouargla University announces the organization of the Best Scientific Publication Competition for the year 2024, indexed in the database (Scopus, WoS) A+, A or B, which is an initiative aimed at promoting and valuing excellence in scientific research, as publications indexed in these databases are considered the most influential in the field of scientific and academic research.

1- Selection and selection criteria
Publication period: Studies published since 2020 are taken into consideration.
Only one article can be participated by each candidate.
Research field: The topics of the publications must be within one of the following research fields:
Energy security;
Food security;
Health security;
Other fields.
Author's localization: The publication must be located at Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargla.
International collaboration: If the publication is the result of international collaboration, the nature of the project and its context must be clarified.

The publication must not have won a competition held by other institutions.

The selection criteria are based on:

Journal indexing

Journal reputation, published topic, and its impact factor

Number of times the article has been cited;

Relevance and novelty of the topic,
The role of the candidate, and his/her ranking among the authors (main author - accompanying author)

Kasdi Merbah University hosts the National Forum on Traffic Violence and Domestic Danger in the Algerian Urban Space

Under the patronage of the Wali of Ouargla, and within the framework of the university's openness to the social environment, Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargla organized on Monday, February 10, 2025, the "National Forum on Domestic Violence and Domestic Danger in the Algerian Urban Space" in the large lecture hall of University Pole No. 02, with the participation of specialists in the field. The event was attended by the deans of the faculties of University Pole No. 02, heads of departments, participating professors and students, and witnessed the participation of representatives of:

- National Security of Ouargla Province
- The National Gendarmerie Provincial Group.
- Civil Protection of Ouargla Province.

This morning, Monday, February 10, 2025, the Board of Directors of the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla held its extraordinary session for the academic year 2024/2025, in the meeting hall of the university directorate, headed by Professor Omar Farhati, representing the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the presence of the University Director, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, along with the Secretary-General of the University and the members of the Board of Directors of the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla, representatives of the various ministerial sectors, and the deans of faculties and directors of institutes at the university, representatives of employees, workers, professors and students. The agenda of the session included:

The meeting was devoted to approving the establishment of the "University Business Accelerator" at the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla, within the framework of Decision No. 005 of January 19, 2025, specifying the methods for establishing university business accelerators at higher education and scientific research institutions, their management and their tasks.

In a meeting that reflects the distinguished scientific status of Algerian researchers, His Excellency the Algerian Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, Mr. Mohamed Soufiane Berrah, received Dr. Hisham Sibouker, Professor and Researcher at the University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla.

During this meeting, the effective role played by the University of Ouargla in supporting scientific research and enhancing its academic presence at the national and international levels was highlighted. The latest ranking of the **ARCIF** platform confirmed this superiority, as the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla ranked **first nationally** and **sixth in the Arab world**, an achievement that reflects the quality of the scientific research produced by the university and its impact on the Arab academic scene. Dr. Hisham Sebouker is an honorable example of this excellence, as his research contributed to raising the university's ranking and consolidating its position among leading academic institutions. This meeting confirms the interest of the Algerian state, represented by its diplomatic mission, in encouraging researchers and enhancing scientific cooperation at the Arab and international levels.

This morning, Thursday, February 6, 2025, the University President, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, chaired the Directorate Council meeting in the meeting hall of the University Directorate, in the presence of the University Secretary General, the Deputy Directors, the Deans and Directors of the two Institutes, the Head of the Systems and Networks Center, the Head of the Ethics and Professional Conduct Committee, and members of the Quality Assurance Cell.

- The agenda of the Directorate Council meeting focused on a set of points, which were as follows:

- Preparing for the 2024/2025 doctoral competition.

- Evaluation of the awareness-raising process regarding the quality management system for professional workers, which lasted from February 2 to 5, 2025 across various university poles.

An eye on the university program for February 5, 2025 with Professor Dr. Mohamed Taher Halilat, Director of the University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla, and the topic of the regional symposium on the sector’s strategy for transparency, prevention and combating corruption under the slogan “Governance and Transparency: The Locomotive of Food Security”

Kasdi Merbah University hosts a regional symposium on the sector's strategy for transparency, prevention and combating corruption under the slogan "Governance and Transparency, the Locomotive of Food Security"

- Under the supervision of the Wali of Ouargla, Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargla, in cooperation with the High Authority for Transparency, Prevention and Combating Corruption and the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Fisheries, and in coordination with the Ouargla Judicial Council, organized today, Monday, February 3, 2025, a regional symposium on the sector's strategy for transparency, prevention and combating corruption under the slogan "Governance, Transparency and Food Security" at the university's directorate.

The symposium featured a number of prominent interventions of great importance in the field, and addressed topics of integrity and effectiveness to establish transparency and accountability to prevent and combat corruption, mechanisms to enhance transparency and prevention, judicial protection of agricultural lands and combating the criminal phenomenon affecting food security, and legal oversight as a mechanism to enhance food security for the consumer.

On the occasion of the promotion of professors from the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla to the rank of professor in the fifty-first session, the University President, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, extends his warmest congratulations and best wishes to the professors who were promoted, and better luck in the coming sessions for those who were not lucky in this session.

On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, the University of Ouargla organized a training session for new professors in the field of distance learning platforms in the discussion hall of the Faculty of Modern Information and Communication Technologies.

The work of this session was opened by the University President, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, in the presence of the Director of the Higher School of Professors in Ouargla, the Vice-Rector of the University in charge of Pedagogy, the Head of the Systems and Networks Center, and the Dean of the Faculty of Modern Information and Communication Technologies.

This training course was supervised by Professor Abane Abdelkader and Professor Charfeddine Michelikh.
