A high-level delegation from the University of Kasdi Merbah - Ouargla on a working visit to the University of Grozny in the Chechen Republic, Russian Federation.
In a unique precedent at the Arab and African levels, a high-level delegation from the University of Kasdi Merbah - Ouargla paid a working visit to Grozny University in the Chechen Republic, Russian Federation. This visit falls within the framework of the university's policy aimed at strengthening international cooperation and opening up to pioneering academic and scientific experiences.



This visit was dedicated to discussing joint cooperation projects between the two universities, in preparation for the launch of international master's programs in strategic fields, including:
- Hydrocarbon exploration and exploitation
- Petroleum economics
- Environmental conservation in oil and gas fields
Working sessions were held in the presence of the President of the University of Grozny and a number of its executives, as well as representatives of an oil company in Grozny, where opportunities for cooperation and exchange of expertise were reviewed. The visit also included field trips to an oil field and the company's headquarters, to learn about the working mechanisms and adopted technologies.
The University of Ouargla delegation gave presentations highlighting the university's scientific and pedagogical capabilities, as well as future projects in the field of training and research, emphasizing the importance of linking academic knowledge with industrial and economic realities.
It's worth noting that these initiatives are receiving significant support from Sonatrach, a strategic partner of the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla, along with the National Petroleum Institute, as part of a national vision aimed at developing specialized higher education and enhancing the environmental dimension of energy activities.

Study Day on Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Supporting Security
On Monday, May 25, 2025, the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, in cooperation with the Wilaya Security of Ouargla, organized a study day entitled "Artificial Intelligence Techniques in Support of Security." Representatives of the National Gendarmerie and Customs attended.
This scientific forum was very enriching, with contributions from professors from the Faculty of Modern Technologies: Dr. Adel Zaka, Prof. Osama Ayadi, Prof. Khaldi Bilal, Dr. Zitouni Farouk, Prof. Boukhamla Akram, and Dr. Ezzedine Bel Amoudi, as well as Algerian researcher Dr. Ben Khaled Imad from the University of Bordeaux, France.
The importance of this scientific meeting is highlighted by the growing interest that the University of Ouargla is giving to the fields of artificial intelligence and its various applications, especially in the field of security, and to keep pace with global technologies and connect the university to its security, social and economic environment. This provides a space for discussion and exchange of views between academics, experts and practitioners in order to deepen understanding and expand the horizons of research and development in this vital field through artificial intelligence (predicting risks - enhancing surveillance systems - cybersecurity - combating crime and pests - securing vital facilities...)

Within the framework of the finals of the national university championships in team sports (males and females) hosted by the University City of Glizan in the period from May 21 to 25, 2025, the final match of the Algerian Cup for mini-football for women took place this morning, Saturday, May 24, 2025, between the University City team of Ouargla and the University City team of Oum El Bouaghi. The match ended with the victory of the University City team of Ouargla in the Algerian Cup in mini-football 2025.

IPTICAR University of Ouargla participates in launching an international twinning project.
The University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla, represented by its Chief of Staff, Professor Ahmed Ramzi Sayagh, participated in the national symposium to launch the IPTICAR (International Programme for the Enhancement of Innovation and Research Capacities) twinning project, which was held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, in the Nelson Mandela Conference Hall - Ibrahim Sultan Chibut University (Algiers 3), under the supervision of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.



The meeting was attended by a number of officials from university and research institutions. The project's themes were presented, aiming to support innovation and scientific research capabilities in universities through training, international mobility, and cooperation with various sectors.
The University of Ouargla's participation in this event is an important step towards strengthening its international presence and supporting cooperation and partnership initiatives in the fields of research and innovation.

The House of Artificial Intelligence hosted a distinguished training course, facilitated by the Ouargla STEAM Center, World Learning Algeria, for students from various disciplines and levels at the University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla.
The course focused on programming mobile applications using the Flutter and Cursor platforms, with a focus on how to employ artificial intelligence technologies within smart applications.
Election of the Chairman and Vice-Chairman of the Social Services Committee at the University of Ouargla
On Thursday, May 22, 2025, the Secretary General of the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla, Mr. El Hachemi Belaid, chaired a meeting of the Social Services Committee members, in the presence of representatives of the social partner from the teachers' and employees' unions.

This meeting resulted in the election of Professor Jamal Ben Menin as Chairman of the Committee, and Mr. Jamal Fentiz as Vice Chairman.
In the same context, the Committee held a meeting attended by members, during which the Committee's bylaws and work program were presented for discussion and approval.

Professor Shawqi Mamadi, coordinator of the Pedagogical Support Unit for Newly Hired Professors at the University of Ouargla, oversaw the launch of the third training workshop on modern technologies and pedagogical practices this morning, Sunday, May 25, 2025. The workshop was attended by Professor Mashalikh Charfeddine, Director of the Center, as well as Professors Mohamed Saleh Djeghlab and Mounir Miloudi from Hamma Lakhdar University in El Oued, who supervised and moderated the third workshop. This workshop comes within the framework of supporting newly hired professors in the use of modern technologies in the educational process and implementing the program of the National Committee for Distance Education, in particular Ministerial Resolution No. 145 of December 29, 2024, establishing the National Committee for the Establishment, Monitoring and Evaluation of Distance Education in Higher Education Institutions, as well as developing the use of modern information and communication technologies in the pedagogical and research fields, as well as Ministerial Resolution No. 144 of December 29, 2024, amending and supplementing Resolution No. 932 of July 28, 2016, which includes methods for organizing pedagogical support for newly hired professor-researchers.


For your information, the third practical workshop is attended by newly hired professors and researchers from the University of Ouargla, as well as professors from the Higher School of Professors in Ouargla, and some hospital professors and researchers. It is held in the Computer Science Laboratory at the Faculty of Modern Information and Communication Technologies in the third university pole, and revolves around the “Portfolio Exhibition”, in terms of design, arrangement, organization, follow-up, coordination, evaluation and assessment in the educational process in the university environment.
