A consultative meeting under the supervision of the University President, Professor Dr. Mohammed al-Taher Halilat
As part of the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla's commitment to advancing scientific research and enhancing its outcomes, a consultative meeting was held on September 8, 2025, under the supervision of the university's director, distinguished professor Mohamed Taher Halilat. The meeting was devoted to discussing prospects for developing scientific research and strengthening its position within the university.

The meeting addressed several key topics, most notably:
- Identifying research priorities in line with societal needs and national development.
Supporting the capabilities of professors and researchers and encouraging multidisciplinary research teams.
Establishing mechanisms to stimulate scientific publishing in peer-reviewed journals.
Enhancing cooperation and partnerships with various research bodies at the national and international levels.


Meeting of the Vice-Rector for Pedagogy with the Vice-Deans of the Faculties and Field Officials
Today, Monday, September 8, 2025, the Vice-Rector of the University in charge of Pedagogy, Professor Abdel Fattah Abi Miloud, chaired a meeting in the meeting room of the University Directorate, in the presence of the Vice-Deans of the Faculties and the field officials. During this meeting, a number of topics were addressed, including the following:

Monitoring preparations for the 2025/2026 academic year.
- Publishing student schedules and issuing student cards.
- Updating lessons via the distance learning platform.

Honoring Ceremony for Outstanding Students for the Year 2024/2025
The Grand Conference Hall of the University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla, hosted a ceremony this morning, Tuesday, June 24, 2024, to honor outstanding students for the 2024/2025 academic year. The ceremony was attended by the university's distinguished president, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, along with local authorities, represented by the governor of the state, Mr. Abdelghani Filali. The ceremony was also attended by the commander of the Fourth Military Region, security and military authorities, executive directors, representatives of institutions and bodies from various sectors in the state of Ouargla, and the revolutionary family. The ceremony was also attended by the university's Secretary General, the Director of University Services, the Director of the Higher School for Professors, and the university family. The university's president, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, delivered a speech on the occasion, praising the efforts of the outstanding students and emphasizing the importance of education and knowledge in building and advancing society. He also thanked all the university's professors and administration for their efforts to provide students with the best means to acquire knowledge and understanding. Representatives of the honored students also delivered a speech expressing their happiness and pride in being honored by their colleagues. They urged all students to exert more effort and persevere to achieve success and excellence.
During the ceremony, students from various disciplines were honored in recognition of their academic excellence and diligence throughout the academic year. The honored students included 31 undergraduate students and 30 master's students. The ceremony also honored special categories of students, including 13 people with disabilities, as well as nine foreign students. Six student teams were also honored for receiving the "Label" badge. The external expert from the ENSP Foundation, the head of the Quality Assurance Cell, and its members at the university were also honored for their efforts in advancing the University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla, as evidenced by its ISO 9001/2015 certification. A special honor was also given to Professor Kadri Mohamed Mehdi, Deputy Director in charge of External Relations and Cooperation, for his efforts in advancing the University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla, internationally.
In the same context, the distinguished Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, President of the University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla, received a special honor from the Regional Organization of Lawyers of the Ouargla Region, for his distinguished achievements in higher education and scientific research in the province. In a move that reflects the university's interest in local and national sports, the state's sports teams were honored for their achievements. These teams included the women's mini-football team, the Ruissat Municipality Future Team, the Ruissat Municipality Future Team, the Beni Thour Youth Team, the Ouargla Women's Basketball Club for People with Disabilities, and the Ouargla Youth Union Women's Handball Club. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the state governor delivered a speech congratulating the outstanding students on their accomplishments and urging them to continue to excel and innovate. He also emphasized the Algerian state's interest in higher education and called for the need to develop and modernize it to keep pace with global developments.


ALSCiF Signing of a strategic partnership agreement between Kasdi Merbah University - Ouargla and the company
As part of the University of Kasdi Merbah - Ouargla's openness to its socio-economic environment and to strengthen its strategic partnerships, the university's presidency hosted the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement with ALSCIF (Algerian Oil Wells Stimulation, Support and Fracturing Company) on the morning of Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

This agreement aims to support innovative startups in the energy sector and launch strategic scientific research projects directly related to national energy security. This will enhance the university's contribution to addressing national challenges and consolidate its role as a driver of development and innovation in southern Algeria. This partnership represents a qualitative step toward strengthening the relationship between the university and economic institutions and providing a fertile environment for translating the results of scientific research into reality.

This morning, Thursday, June 12, 2025, the Rector of the University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, received Professor Ourania Tzoraki from the University of the Aegean in Greece. The meeting was attended by the Vice-Rector for External Relations, Professor Mohamed Mehdi Kadri.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss prospects for academic cooperation between the two institutions, particularly regarding a joint international master's project in the field of environment and groundwater management. This step reflects the university's efforts to open new horizons in higher education with an international dimension.
This visit is part of the University of Ouargla's strategic direction to enhance its openness to the European university community and to value its academic partnerships to enhance its standing regionally and internationally.
