In commemoration of the outbreak of the glorious liberation revolution, the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla is celebrating the 70th anniversary of the revolution of November 1, 1954, through the Sub-Directorate of Scientific, Cultural and Sports Activities and University Pole 01, on October 30 and 31, 2024 at the central library of University Pole 01.



The event was attended by the university director, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, and various components of the university family, including vice-directors, deans of faculties, heads of departments, professors and students, in addition to representatives of civil and security authorities, the revolutionary family and the media. The ceremony began with raising the national flag, laying a wreath of flowers and reciting the opening chapter of the book in memory of the souls of the righteous martyrs. This was followed by the opening speech delivered by Professor "Abdullah Kamassi", Dean of the Faculty of Natural and Life Sciences, on behalf of the university director, in which he mentioned the greatness of the glorious November 1st Revolution and the sacrifices of the martyrs and mujahideen for the sake of Algeria's independence and sovereignty, and drawing inspiration from the lessons and great sacrifices of Algerian students during the glorious liberation revolution and making more efforts to raise the flag of Algeria high and contribute to building and developing this country.


It is also worth noting that a rich program of cultural, scientific and sports activities was outlined, as well as the organization of an exhibition of the creations of the scientific clubs accredited in the various colleges and institutes of the university, which was the subject of a visit by the official delegation. The ceremony witnessed the honoring of a number of the region’s mujahideen on the occasion, so that the attendees could enjoy a display of martial arts. On the sidelines of the celebration, the signal was given to start the tree-planting campaign to commemorate this occasion.


Finally, the ceremony concluded with honoring the students who won the intellectual and sports competitions organized in advance for the occasion, in organization and distributing symbolic prizes for a competition in which the attendees participated. Glory and immortality to our righteous martyrs.
The First National Forum for University Guidance
On Wednesday morning, October 30, 2024, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Kasdi Merbah, Ouargla, organized the first national forum under the slogan "University guidance through approved educational and training paths in light of the digital and technological transformation of the Algerian university", under the supervision of the Deputy Director in charge of studies, Mr. Abi Miloud Abdel Fattah, on behalf of the University Director, and chaired by Professor Fatima Ghanem, and in the presence of professors, experts and specialists from the University of Ouargla and universities of the country. This first national forum aims to enhance the understanding of university guidance in the context of digital and technological transformation, and to develop educational strategies in line with the future needs of students in the labor market. It also witnessed several scientific sessions and discussions, highlighting the importance of university guidance in light of the rapid digital and technological changes. Among the most important topics raised that were addressed were the challenges facing higher education in the digital age, where the challenges and opportunities provided by the digital transformation in the field of university guidance were discussed, as well as strategies for using technology and artificial intelligence in student guidance, and how to facilitate the selection process through innovative digital platforms. Successful experiences in student guidance were discussed, through the presentation of models and practical experiences from different universities.
The forum began with an opening session under the supervision of the session chair, Professor Dr. Houria Amouri, which included opening remarks by some prominent figures and faculty members at the university. This was followed by a detailed presentation on "Digital Guidance for New Students", which discussed the steps taken by universities to provide guidance consultations using digital technology.
The forum also included a set of workshops aimed at providing practical solutions to integrate digital technologies into the university guidance process, with the participation of a group of professors and experts from the University of Ouargla and universities across the country. The program included several lectures by specialized speakers from various universities.
This forum comes at a time when digital transformation has become an urgent necessity for the development of higher education. Those in charge of it seek to shed light on the importance of university guidance in building the future of students and providing them with the knowledge and skills necessary to face new challenges. It also aims to enhance cooperation between universities in the field of exchanging experiences and developing modern digital tools that support guidance processes.
In conclusion, this forum is an important step towards improving higher education through effective university guidance. FNESRS/UGTA Meeting with representatives of the National Federation of Higher Education and Scientific Research
Within the framework of the periodic dialogue rounds with social partners, the University President met on October 29, 2024 with representatives of the National Federation of Higher Education and Scientific Research FNESRS/UGTA, where the meeting addressed a number of concerns, proposals and issues of interest to professors related to improving professional and social conditions and proposals and recommendations to improve the performance of administrative, pedagogical, scientific and research activities.

At the end of the meeting, the university president praised the professional level reached by the relationship with the social partner, thanking the union representatives for their national sense and their vital role in developing the management style based on the union’s participation in addressing the concerns of the university family and presenting proposals and visions in order to develop the university and achieve the goals for which it was established.
