Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargla participated in the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training/Teaching (KA-171) program, which was held at Kastamonu University in Turkey during the period from October 14 to 18, 2024. The university was represented by Mr. Hamdi Abdel Nour for the staff category, and Professor Khadija Amer for the professors category.
The most prominent aspects of this program were building cooperation links and exchanging knowledge and experiences between the participants representing 26 universities from 12 countries, and the professors giving lectures to the students of the Turkish university, as well as the employees category benefiting from training and workshops in various administrative specializations used in the same university.
It was an opportunity to meet with executives and professors from many universities from different countries of the world, such as: Jordan, Georgia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Algeria, Ukraine, China, Indonesia, Uzbekistan and Ghana, in order to enhance scientific and cultural exchange.
The participation of Kasdi Merbah University of Ouargla in this program comes within its strategy to enhance international cooperation and build educational and training partnerships that open new horizons for students, professors and employees in various disciplines.

In an important step to enhance the integration and empowerment of students with disabilities into the university community, the establishment of the University Club for People of Determination was announced this morning, Thursday, October 24, 2024, in the meeting hall of the university directorate, during a meeting that included officials of the Digital Center for People of Determination and a number of students from this category. The club aims to provide an appropriate educational and training environment, aiming to develop their skills and meet their academic and service needs.

In this regard, a detailed explanation of the tasks of the Digital Center for People of Determination was provided by officials, where they explained the efforts made by the center to support students in various aspects. The most prominent concerns of students in the pedagogical field and the importance of improving university services for them were discussed, which contributes to enhancing their educational experience.

During the meeting, it was announced that a series of training courses designed specifically for people of determination would be launched, with the aim of enhancing their academic and practical capabilities. Among these courses: a training course in computer science specially adapted for blind students, which will enable them to use technology effectively in their studies and daily lives, as well as a course in teaching Braille to enable blind students who have not yet mastered this method to use it in reading and writing, in addition to a course in teaching the English language, which will provide them with broader opportunities for academic and professional communication and interaction.

Preparations have also been made to celebrate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which represents an opportunity to highlight their achievements and needs. On this occasion, events and activities will be organized to enhance their presence and role in university student life.

For their part, the students showed great interest in the initiatives that were presented, expressing their aspiration to benefit from the new programs that will help them develop their skills and achieve greater academic success.

This step is part of the university's vision to enhance inclusiveness and provide the necessary support for every student regardless of their special needs, making the university an inclusive and encouraging environment for all.

As part of the evaluation of the university admission process, a coordination meeting was held this morning, Thursday, October 24, 2024, in the meeting hall of the University of Ouargla Directorate, headed by the University Director, attended by the Vice-Directors in charge of Pedagogy and External Relations, in addition to the Secretary-General of the University, the Director of University Services, the Sub-Director of Activities, and the Monitoring and Coordination Officer. In addition to the participation of the provincial secretaries of the student organizations active at the university.

The meeting addressed the evaluation of university admission for the new academic year, discussed new specializations, and enriched the discussion on everything related to the student at the University of Ouargla.

With regard to university services, the floor was opened for discussion on the conditions of university residences and the services provided to resident students. The Director of University Services stressed the need to improve the quality of residence and develop the infrastructure to meet the needs of students and provide them with a comfortable and stimulating environment for academic achievement.

This visit represents a real opportunity to build a partnership between the University of Ouargla and its Irish counterpart, where Professor Suleiman Tawfiq gave an introductory lecture about the University of Limerick and the specializations it includes, highlighting the most important projects and academic exchange and international cooperation programs, such as the +ERASMUS program.

The meeting was characterized by great interaction from the attendees, both professors and students, who participated in the discussion and raised many questions and inquiries, which gave the guest the opportunity to provide comprehensive answers, which further clarified many cognitive aspects that can be benefited from in the future through available scientific partnerships.
At the end of today's visit, Professor Suleiman visited both the Scientific Research Center and CRAPC, where he met with laboratory officials and doctoral students, as part of strengthening research and academic relations between the two universities.
