In accordance with the principle of the university's openness to the economic and social environment and to strengthen the frameworks of joint cooperation between the University of Ouargla and the Sonatrach Group, an important meeting was held on the morning of Thursday, September 19, 2024, between the administration of the University of Kasdi Merbah, represented by its director, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, and the Director of Human Resources of the Sonatrach Group, and the Director of the Petroleum Institute.
This meeting comes within the framework of strengthening the partnership between academic and economic institutions, especially in the field of training and scientific research.
During this meeting, the focus was on several main axes, most notably:
Training and training, as the meeting addressed providing company employees with training opportunities in various fields, with the aim of raising their competencies and developing their technical and scientific skills. The university director stressed the need to develop specialized training programs and courses in cooperation with Sonatrach and the Petroleum Institute, in line with the needs of the local and global market, while Sonatrach representatives stressed the importance of cooperation and benefiting from the university's pedagogical and scientific support for the company's cadres in several fields.
At the end of the meeting, both parties expressed their commitment to strengthening this partnership and achieving tangible results that benefit both the university and the company, thus contributing to supporting the national economy and developing human resources in the petroleum and energy sector.

The University of Kasdi Merbah in Ouargla witnessed the launch of the opening ceremony of the new academic year 2024/2025 in the Grand Conference Hall of the University Directorate, in a distinctive festive atmosphere. The ceremony was attended by the university family, representatives of the local authorities represented by the Wali of Ouargla, the security, military and state authorities, social and economic partners, and representatives of students. The ceremony included opening remarks by the university director, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, in which he reviewed the most prominent achievements of the university during the past year, and touched on future plans and development prospects. His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research also delivered a direct speech, in which he officially announced the launch of the new academic year, and provided important directives to raise the level of higher education in Algeria.

On this occasion, Professor Fadhila Toumi gave the opening lecture entitled "The University, the Maker of the Possible". A cooperation agreement was also signed between the University of Ouargla and the National Agency for the Support and Development of Entrepreneurship. The ceremony witnessed the honoring of professors who obtained the best scientific production, students who won innovative projects, and the honoring of the families of deceased professors and employees.

The start of the new academic year at Kasdi Merbah University comes with a great focus on quality and excellence, as the university seeks to achieve leadership in the field of higher education and scientific research, and to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary for the labor market.

On the occasion of the opening of the academic year 2024/2025 at the University of Ouargla, an agreement was signed between the University of Ouargla and the National Agency for the Support of Entrepreneurship Development regarding the establishment of the Entrepreneurship Development Center at the University of Ouargla, in the presence of the Governor of Ouargla. This center (cde) works to train students and university graduates with projects who go to the agency to establish their small projects.

Students should be aware that transfers for old students (internal/external) will be submitted through the Progres system according to the following schedule:

From 15 to 20 September 2024 to submit applications through the platform.

From 25 to 28 September 2024 to announce the results, confirm the transfer and pay the final registration fees.

In implementation of the instructions of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and in continuation of the series of meetings held by the Board of Directors of the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla and in preparation for the 2024/2025 academic year, a meeting of the Board of Directors was held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, headed by the University Director, Professor Mohamed Taher Halilat, and in the presence of the university’s administrative and pedagogical staff. The meeting was devoted to reviewing the procedures for preparing for the current academic year.

In a step towards activating university life and providing an environment rich in activities, a preparatory coordination meeting for scientific, cultural and sports activities was organized this morning, Thursday, August 29, 2024, in the meeting hall of the university directorate, headed by the university’s secretary-general, the sub-director of scientific, cultural and sports activities, and all heads of activity departments at the level of colleges and institutes, with the aim of outlining the features of student life for the new university season 2024-2025.

In this context, the Secretary-General of the University stressed, through this meeting, the importance of diversifying student activities and encouraging broad student participation in various fields. During the meeting, a set of basic axes were reviewed that will form the basis of the annual program of university activities.
