Coordination meeting to study the project of establishing a university library "using Braille technology" for the benefit of students with disabilities

On the morning of Thursday, October 10, 2024, in the meeting hall of the Faculty of Law and Political Science, a coordination meeting was held between the administration of the Faculty of Law and Political Science and the Digital Center for People with Disabilities. The meeting was chaired by the Dean of the Faculty, Professor Imad Al-Din Ayyad, and attended by the faculty’s cadres and professors and officials of the Digital Center for People with Disabilities. This meeting addressed the study of the project to complete a university library using Braille technology under the slogan “The Digital Center for People with Disabilities towards a Braille Library.” The Faculty of Law and Political Science will be the starting point for this project before it is generalized to all faculties and institutes of the university. The meeting included a set of points, which were as follows:
- Discussing the legal and administrative procedures for implementing the Braille Library project
- Identifying pedagogical books that are compatible with the program prescribed for university students
- Corresponding with the authors of the references with the aim of receiving a copy in Word format and printing it using Braille technology
Through this step, Kasdi Merbah University aims to reduce the difficulties faced by students with disabilities, and to provide the necessary support and follow-up to adapt educational programs and platforms and provide devices and aids for this category of students to ensure good academic achievement and reduce the difficulties they face in their studies.

Continuing the series of organizing general associations, founding scientific, cultural and sports clubs

Today, Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at 13:00, the founding general assembly of the two clubs, Ibn Sina and the Sports Club of the Faculty of Medicine, was held in Hall B of the Faculty of Medicine. The founding assembly was attended by the Vice Dean in charge of Pedagogy, the Sub-Director of Activities, the Head of the Faculty Activities Department, and a large group of students who founded the two clubs. The talk was initiated by the Sub-Director of Activities, who explained how to establish these clubs based on the instructions and supervision of the Directorate of Student Life. He also spoke about the challenges facing clubs in all areas, in terms of participation in national competitions as well as organizing activities at the university and faculty levels. The floor was given to the Vice Dean, who in turn noted the essential and important role in establishing such scientific, cultural and sports clubs to be an additional space and space for university students to hone their talents and hobbies away from the pressures of study and research. Closing of the training course "Laboratory Technician in the field of cement and well drilling"

In implementation of the strategy of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to raise the level of competencies of the national workforce through university subsidiary institutions, the activities of the training course organized by the Ouargla University Foundation for Geological Consulting and Services at the well drilling site in cooperation with the SEED Academy Foundation for the benefit of students about to graduate in technical fields concluded on Wednesday evening, October 9, 2024, at the Scientific Research Center, where the Vice President of the University in charge of External Relations and Cooperation supervised the delivery of training certificates to the trainee students, in the presence of Ms. Kadi Rima, Director of THE SEED ACADEMY Foundation, the Director of the University Office, the Head of the Systems and Networks Center at the University, the Head of the Office of Subsidiary Institutions at the University, THE SEED ACADEMY Company experts and training professors.
These programs, which are supervised by an elite group of Ouargla University professors and experts in various fields and specializations, aim to provide trainees with the skills and knowledge necessary to advance their professional career and contribute to developing their knowledge and experience. These programs represent a qualitative leap in the field of training and education, as they will contribute to bridging the gap between higher education outcomes and labor market requirements by reducing unemployment for university graduates and others. Scientific internship in water desalination and training in English at technology universities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
In implementation of the recommendations of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research. And the directives of the Director of the University of Kasdi Merbah Ouargla to encourage science and technology professors, especially in the first years and the specialization in water desalination. And to enable them, as much as possible, to take internships in the English language and to learn about the practical aspects and some desalination plants.

At the beginning of the first semester of 2024-2025 of this year, the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences accompanied a team of six professors from our college at our university. This was in order to conduct a short-term internship to visit the laboratories and departments of the College of Engineering at King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. As well as research units and laboratories of pedagogy and research. And to visit one of the water desalination plants in Riyadh. This is with the aim of signing a scientific and training cooperation agreement for the benefit of professors and students, especially in the field of water desalination.

As a reminder, our university was one of the four national universities that benefited from the training program in the field of groundwater desalination. We started training master's students starting from the university entrance 2023/2024.
The team was received by the officials, headed by the Dean of the College of Engineering at King Saud University. And the heads of departments, laboratory officials and professors, especially in the field of desalination. It was interspersed over several days with visits and specialized scientific meetings. It was agreed to cooperate jointly in all engineering specialties, especially in the field of desalination.
Thanks to the professors participating in this internship for their good follow-up, interest and achievement. Thanks also to the scientific and administrative staff of the college and the university who facilitated this internship, headed by the Dean of the College, the Vice Dean in charge of scientific research, the President and members of the Scientific Council of the College, and thanks to the Vice Director in charge of External Relations and his interests.
